Good Reads

I often run across a friend who is reading something interesting or have one who asks me what I’ve read lately. Now, with Good Reads, we don’t have to ask. We can just load up this Web site and see what everyone’s been reading!

You can start navigating by clicking the Get Started button. All you need is a name, e-mail address and a password. Or, you can click the How It Works link and learn specifically what you can do here.

This site has a lot going on! You can rate books, keep track of your books, recommend books to friends, add books to your Web site, import/export books to a spreadsheet, create groups and even browse by different lists!

I have so many books, I don’t even want to try to catalogue them at this point in time. But at some point, it might come in handy to weed out the duplicate copies of books and send them off to other readers.

My Books – This is your book shelf, where the books you rate and have read will be listed.

Friends – This is where you will find your friends listed. This tab makes it incredibly easy to keep track of them and what they are reading.

Explore – This is where you will find the most recent reviews of all the books on the site. If you’ve read the book, you can rate it by clicking the number of stars you would give it. Just below that, you’ll find the button to add it to your own books. You can also add a comment by clicking the Add a Comment link beneath the book's entry.

To change from the most recent view, you can use the Categories link at the top of the page. You can explore books through many lists and those are: popular shelves, popular, unpopular, friends popular, friends unpopular, friends reading, top authors, book discussions, stories and writing and quotes.

Meet People – Here you will see a listing of the people who are: online now, top readers, top reviewers, near me and top profiles. This is the heartbeat of the community, where you can poke around and see what other people have been reading recently.

Authors – Here you can see a listing of all the published authors who have signed up at Good Reads. It’s wonderful to know that authors read voraciously too and want to know what others have been reading as well.

Groups – Here you can find different reading groups you can join and participate in. This is a great way to have a book of the month club experience from the comfort of your own home and at your own pace!

You can also search this site with the handy search engine at the top of the page. You can search by author or by a book's title.

If you are an avid reader, like me, I think you’ll find this site to propecia to buy be a real gem. I’ve got a huge list of books I want to read now that I never knew about before I found this site. Happy reading!

Alt + Tab

Back by popular demand. You asked for it, so here it is!

Let's say you have about four different programs running on your PC all at the same time. For instance, maybe you have your e-mail up and running, a Web browser window open, a Word document ready for review and your music player playing your favorite song. With all of that going on, have you ever wondered if there was a quick way to pull each of those programs up as you need them, without the rest of them getting in your way? For example, maybe you're working on your Word document, but you want to bring your music player up to change songs. So, how can you do that quickly and painlessly?

propecia timeline

Well, all you have to do is press Alt + Tab together one time. Once you do that, it will bring up a little box that has all of your open programs listed. Then while continuing to hold the Alt key down, just press the Tab key to scroll your way across the programs. Highlight the one you want and then release the Alt key to pull that program up. Want to change programs again? Just repeat the process as many times as you need. It's so simple and it also helps you to keep track of everything you have running on your PC at one time. Pretty cool, huh? Give it a try today!

More on Google Chrome

I know we talked a little about this yesterday, but here's some more information about Google Chrome for you!

As you have heard, Google has finally designed and built a Web browser of its own. And like all Google products, it's different, yet unique. This past Monday (September 1, 2008), Google announced in their blog that they would be releasing their new open source Web browser, titled Google Chrome, on September 2, 2008 in over 100 countries.

Since we spend a majority of our time on the Internet searching, chatting, e-mailing and communicating, instead of just viewing simple text pages, Google decided to create a Web browser focused on graphical, interactive Web sites and Web based applications. “What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for Web pages and applications. And that's what we set out to build,” stated the Google blog.

With the release of Google Chrome, other browsers, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera will now have some major competition, which might cause the other browsers to introduce new features that rival Google Chrome. Internet Explorer 7 holds about 73 percent of the Web browser market, according to Net Applications. So, if Google wants to take a piece of that away from Microsoft, they have a major battle ahead of them!

Google even released a comic book, drawn by Scott McCloud, that introduces the features of Google Chrome. The comic book is available here if you're propecia tabs interested in seeing it. By starting from scratch and building their own foundation, Google hopes their browser will eventually dominate the market. The new Web browser has already been released for Windows and versions for Mac OS and Linux are on the way.

Give Google Chrome a try for yourself today!

Google’s Own Web Browser

Just when you thought you had the latest and greatest in Web browsers, along comes another one that changes the competition completely!

I'm talking about the brand new Web browser made by Google, called Google Chrome.

Google Chrome was released on Tuesday (September 2, 2008) as a beta edition and it has already caught the attention of many Web users.

The new browser has so many features, but it's so simple to use! One of my favorite features is the address/search box at the top of the page. Until now, every other browser has had two boxes: one for searching and one for addresses. But Google Chrome combines them. Just type what you want in to the one box you see and it automatically knows what to look for. Cool, huh?!

Another great feature is the independent tabs. Have you ever been using multiple tabs on your browser and the whole thing crashed on you? Everything was lost and it was such a pain to fix! Well, with Google Chrome, if one tab stops working, you can close it out and not lose a thing!

There are so many features, there's no way I could list them all here. I say if you're looking to improve your Web browsing experience, try Google Chrome for yourself. When you install it, you will be given a full page of tutorials that show you how to use everything involved.

You can download Google Chrome for yourself right here. propecia symptoms Enjoy!

Hints for purchasing a new printer

Q:
I've been looking into buying a new printer. What are some things I should ask when I go to the store to actually buy it?

A:
Great question! The first thing you should do is ask the sales person to do a quick test print for you so that you can see exactly how your printer will act and also how it will sound. You don't want it to be so noisy that every time you print something, you can't even hear yourself think!

Once that's covered, here are some more questions you should keep in mind to ask:

propecia stories

1.) How does the printer handle different types of paper? Check and see if the printer can handle things like envelopes, cards or other types of paper you might use. Also, ask how much paper the printer is able to hold at one time. You don't want to be constantly refilling the paper and you don't want to run into any paper jams.

2.) What type of ink cartridge does the printer take? You'll want to ask about black and color ink cartridges. Check on the cost of them (you don't want to be forking out tons of money for ink later on), how easy is the installation for refills, etc. Ink is what makes your projects turn out at all, so you want your new printer to be top notch in that area. Also, even if you're buying a printer on the cheaper side, it may cost more to refill the ink down the road, so always double check on that.

3.) How easy is it to install the printer on my computer? Always ask the sales person who is helping you how the installation process is. Some printers can be more difficult than others and you can save yourself some hassle by asking. Most printers just come with a CD kit and you just have to walk through the process with a wizard, but make sure that's all you're getting yourself into.

4.) How durable is the printer? Depending on what you're going to be printing with your new printer, you'll want to find out how much it can handle. If you're only going to be printing items every so often, a standard printer will be fine, but if you're going to be printing in high volume, you may need something a little more advanced.

5.) Does the printer handle postscript language? If you're going to be printing a lot of heavy graphics and so forth, make sure your printer supports the language.

6.) What type of warranty does the printer come with? Always check on that to keep yourself covered.

7.) And finally, the most important question of all: how much does it cost?

If you keep these sample questions in mind, you should be able to find the printer that will fulfill all your needs and you will be happy with the turn out. Happy shopping!
